what is ECOBICI?
ECOBICI CDMX is the public bike-sharing system in Mexico City, designed to provide an eco-friendly, free, and efficient transportation alternative.
This service allows users to BORROW AND RETURN bikes in 45-minute periods at various stations distributed throughout the city.
how it works?
To use ECOBICI, users must first register through the mobile app or website, selecting a subscription plan that can be daily, weekly, monthly, or annual.
Once registered, users can find a nearby ECOBICI station using the app, which shows real-time availability of bikes and free spaces at each station.
who is it for?
ECOBICI is designed for everyone looking for an eco-friendly, healthy, and efficient way to get around Mexico City. This includes both residents and tourists who want to live and explore the city in an active manner.
The minimum age to use ECOBICI is 16 years. This restriction ensures that users have the physical and cognitive ability necessary to safely handle a bicycle in an urban environment.
What are the usage requirements?
To register for ECOBICI, you’ll need the following:
Official ID: This can be an identification card, passport, driver’s license, or any other valid official document.
Bank Card: Must be a credit or debit card from any banking institution and must be in your name.
Age Requirement: You must be at least 16 years old.

What are the operating hours?
The ECOBICI CDMX service is designed to be accessible and convenient, operating every day of the year.
The cycle stations are operational from 5:00 AM to 12:30 AM the following day, allowing users to enjoy flexible and eco-friendly transportation at almost any hour of the day.
Are they electric?
The ECOBICI bicycles are conventional, not electric. They are designed to be robust and durable, suitable for urban use.
These bicycles feature adjustable seat height, a basket for carrying items, and front and rear lights for increased safety at night.
Do they have gears?
The ECOBICI bicycles are equipped with three gears.
This three-speed system allows users to adjust the pedaling resistance, making it easier to adapt to different terrains and levels of effort.
Integrated Mobility Card (MI)?
The Integrated Mobility Card (MI) is a multifunctional card that can be used on public transportation in Mexico City, including the Metro, Metrobús, Cablebús, Light Rail, and Ecobici.

Para asegurar la bicicleta, la persona usuaria deberá alinear el triángulo delantero con el puerto disponible y empujar.
Una señal de sonido será emitida y el indicador luminoso se encenderá en color verde, lo cual indicará que la bicicleta ha sido correctamente asegurada al puerto de anclaje, es decir, el anclaje fue correcto.

In the event of the theft of a bicycle that has been unlocked by a user, ECOBICI must be immediately notified by phone at 55-5005-2424 or 800 3262 421.
ECOBICI staff will go to the site, assess the situation, and provide support to the user in the process of filing a complaint with the Prosecutor’s Office.

ECOBICI staff will go to the location to determine responsibilities, assess damages, and establish agreements between both parties.

Todas las personas usuarias con Membresía anual o temporal activa, contarán con la protección de un seguro de accidentes y de responsabilidad civil con cobertura de gastos médicos y daños a terceros. Las personas titulares de membresías anuales, adicionalmente contarán con cobertura en caso de muerte accidental y gastos funerarios. La aplicación y procedencia de las coberturas queda sujeta a las condiciones de la póliza de seguro contratada.
